Jacqueline Salas, originally from Chile, has made numerous international appearances as solo pianist and chamber musician. She has professionally concertized and given master classes throughout Asia and the Far East including Japan, India, and Hong Kong. Dr. Salas has broadcast and recorded for both American and foreign radio networks, and has appeared on U.S. nationwide television in live interviews and performances.

Dr. Salas is the recipient of numerous awards including a full scholarship to study with Adele Marcus of the Juilliard School of Music. She was also awarded a full tuition scholarship to study with Claudio Arrau after a live audition in New York for the master. The U.S. State Department granted her aid to tour the Far East. She is also the recipient of a CSUN grant to further research the authentic performance practice of the Argentenean tango with specialization in the music of Astor Piazzolla.

While teaching at USC, she earned a doctoral degree in Piano Performance from the University of Southern California. She also holds a master's degree from Stanford University. She is active as a performer, adjudicator, and master class teacher.

Dr. Salas especially enjoys teaching. Her students have won competitions and have been awarded scholarships and graduate fellowships.

Classically trained, Dr. Salas also delights in her Latin musical heritage and is an aficionado of the jazz styles as well.
